Kagwa brings nearly 20 years of experience in leadership and brand strategy to the role

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has appointed Juliana Kagwa as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership change in the country’s tourism sector. She succeeds Lilly Ajarova, who has been named Senior Presidential Advisor on Tourism.

Kagwa brings nearly 20 years of experience in leadership and brand strategy to the role. Before joining UTB, she served as Group Sales and Marketing Director at Seed Co Group, a South African-based company, and previously held the position of Director of Corporate Relations at Diageo.

In her new role, Kagwa will be tasked with steering the growth and development of Uganda’s tourism industry, positioning the country as a competitive and sustainable global destination, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
